One of the great worries and perils of not living in the same country as your family is that your are not nearby and can visit when something happens which actually needs your presense not only for them but also for you. Me am now waiting to get an entry/exit visa to visit my parents as my mother needs to have a life threatening operation. This is not the first time it happened but now it is different as there is no free and easy moving in and out of sudan. we will see. In meantime had a few eventful weeks with a lot of works going on at the hospital. The OPD is steadily moving forward and still aiming to finish on 5th November. We also started with some renovation works on the OT but man that's a nigthmare. To get a proper qoutation on getting revolving doors in the OT theatre takes you 3 days of talking and running around alike a mad dog to finally find someone and even than. The new generator is finally connected, together with a 1000L tank as it consumes 5 gallons per hour - and people are now asking for AC in all rooms. Luckily the DG of thne Hospital is refusing as well as she pays the electricity bill whereas we pay the fuel. Her pocket money versus ours haha. Remembered also my time in Asia where a lot of misunderstanding arose due to people just not speaking the same language, having wax in their ears, not open enough to listen, to geared up, you name it..apparently being 50 means that for most of the people you are the grandfather so was able to be middleman but it is so easy...not talk a lot but just communicate.....
