too hot to handle?? over 43 degrees

Been back one week and the temperature went up to 43dgr with with a hot dessrt wind from the east. 3 liters of water a day plus a few cokes is not enough to drain yourself and we are lucky. the local population doesnot have the same acccess to these amenities as we have. thats why msf provides water to the hospital which we unfortunately had to protect with locked covers otherwise people just drain it out by any means possible.(see pics). When is was on RnR the delivery room and labour ward received the final touches with curtains and baby cots. looks great. Also we had a visit of the country pharmacist - marjolein - who did a review of the warehouse, stock keeping and process. Trine and Mohammed Ibrahim did a good job.No major issues. Also my work for the next 5 months is carved out. We would like to open the Opeation Theatre beginning of October meaning we have 2 months to build a new OutPatientDepartment, a new Laundry, a new water supply system, a complete rewiring of the Hospital and last but not least some major/minor renovations of the OT itself. In meantime i have also takene over the responsability of the FieldCoordinator - on top of logistics administration and finance - so i will be quite busy. Keep you posted

Hier ook zomers. Al zitten we dit jaar niet in Frankrijk in Oudkarspel (met strand) is het ook goed toeven in de vakantie.
Marit is weer terug uit Lloret de Mar en Joost gaat nog naar Terschelling met 9 andere mannen.
Gefeliciteerd met Gillian haar verjaardag en............jullie 10 jarig huwelijk!!
